Are Spike & Sam Kennedy (Late 1800’s—fought with Wyatt Earp) related to JFK?

Thank you.

Gerry Andrus

Dear Mr. Andrus

As far as we can determine, Joseph Kennedy’s family came to Boston during the 1840s and spent the rest of the century trying to make something of themselves there. Names notwithstanding, there is no evidence that Mifflin and James Kenedy are any more directly related to John F. Kennedy than I am to Kasper Gutman in The Maltese Falcon.

(For information on Spike Kenedy (one “n”) and his family, readThe Killing of Dora Hand,” which originally appeared in the December 2009 edition of World History Group’s Wild West magazine.—Editor)
